During these hard times of quarantine, it is fundamental to keep a positive mindset. For us, it means to look forward to going back to a normal routine. Strolling around beautiful Budapest, visiting our family in Italy, planning trips abroad… Plus, from May there will be three of us! We are so excited to start this new chapter in our lives 🙂
How do we stay positive? We are happy to share with you some of the resources that help us stay happy and motivated: some of the best travel vloggers and YouTubers! Now more than ever, it’s just the best way to see the world from our sofa.
Make sure you check out our YouTube Channel! We published plenty of videos of Japan and European city breaks 🙂
Sailing La Vagabonde
Our favourite YouTubers are definitely Elayna and Riley of Sailing La Vagabonde! They show incredible places around the world, as well as the tough times during their adventure. They are really natural and spontaneous, funny and clever! Aaaand they have a cute 1-year old boy 🙂
In their most recent adventures, they gave a lift to Greta Thunberg from the US to Portugal, on a very rough Atlantic Ocean. However, considering this quarantine mood, here is an epic episode from their time in the Bahamas. Enjoy!
Currently Hannah
In case it wasn’t clear yet, we love Japan! We’ve been there together twice, Darek did another two solo trips, and we’d gladly travel there every year.
Hannah of Currently Hannah is an Australian YouTuber and travel vlogger who perfectly captures the beauty of Japan: her shots portray the amazing natural landscapes, the bustling cities, the quirkiness of Japanese people, and their fascinating traditions.
She’s really down-to-earth, clever, and a pleasure to listen to. We added a lot of destinations on our bucket list after watching her videos! Like this place close to Tokyo. Enjoy 🙂
Sailing Uma
What makes Sailing Uma captivating is the unique balance of content: Dan and Kika show gorgeous destinations with art and creativity, they tell their adventures in a fun and personal way, and they keep fixing and upgrading their boat as if carpentry+electrician skills are effortless endeavors. We are mind-blown every single time! Enjoy 🙂
Eva Zu Beck
We started following Eva Zu Beck very recently, and we can’t stop! Not only she is a solo travel vlogger in countries we may never travel to, like Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, but she also dives deep in the culture by meeting the locals and experiencing life with them.
We love her genuine, authentic, yet quite journalistic style. It wouldn’t surprise us to see her on TV channels or Netflix documentaries soon! Enjoy 🙂
Ran Sailing
Some more sailing! Johan and Malin of Ran Sailing are a Swedish couple who recently had a cute baby daughter. Before that, they crossed the Atlantic, reached Hawaii, made it back to Canada and Mexico… So many gorgeous places!
Their videos are perfect to relax after a stressful day. Here are some Caribbean waters for you guys 🙂
Flying the Nest
Now, let’s talk about some travels that we regular humans can actually do, after this emergency is over!
Flying The Nest provides some serious travel inspiration. Jess and Steve are an enthusiastic Australian couple who started their YouTube travel channel during their 1-year sabbatical around the world. We like their style because they travel for short periods and spend a few days in each city, just like we would!
We really enjoyed their spontaneous travels in 2019, which included booking a trip to a surprise destination, to be discovered only one day before departure! Enjoy 🙂
Where’s Poppy
One last YouTube recommendation for travel inspiration to both classic and unexpected destinations! Poppy of Where’s Poppy is a young traveller who is very keen on interacting with the locals. Lots of her videos are about China (where she lived while teaching English) and other amazing parts of Asia, but she also explored lots of other countries.
She is very fresh and spontaneous, which makes for funny and entertaining videos with gorgeous, artistic shots. Even though we loved her series about New Zealand (we mentioned here in our post about meeting people abroad), here we recommend this one about real life in Bali! Enjoy 🙂
