Our life changed in April 2020, when our son Alexander joined us! In the middle of the pandemic, our life in Budapest was quiet and sedentary. This peaceful time at home with our newborn was precious and valuable.
However, our feet were itchy! Thanks to Darek’s remote office job and to my maternity leave, we were able to travel to Italy and spend some time with my family.
After I went back to work and travel was safe again, we chose our first destination with toddler Alex: Iceland! We had a great time, and we are very inspired to travel with Alex as much as possible. Then Southern Italy came, then Northern Italy and Switzerland… by now, Alex is 4 years old, and we’re quite experienced road-trippers!
We stay true to our nature and mix together efficiency with spontaneity, while enjoying the slower pace required to travel with a child.
Here is our experience and what I learned when travelling as a family.
